Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden and Ambassador-designate to other Nordic countries.

Career

1990-1994: Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka

 

1994-1998:  Second Secretary, Bangladesh Embassy, Paris, also a member of Bangladesh Permanent Delegation to the UNESCO (Headquarters, Paris). 

1998-2000: First Secretary/Counsellor, Bangladesh Embassy, Paris and Kathmandu (also representing at times in meetings at the SAARC Secretariat, Katmandu).

 

2000-2003: Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

 

2003-2004 : Counsellor/Minister, Bangladesh Embassy, Cairo.

 

2005-2008: Consul General, Bangladesh Consulate General, Hong Kong.

 

October 2008- October 2010: Director General (European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

 

15 October 2010 onward: Ambassador of Bangladesh in Stockholm.

Professional Training

Foundation Training Course, Bangladesh Public Administration Training Centre (BPATC), Savar (1991). Specialized Departmental Training Course, Foreign Service Academy, Dhaka (1990).

French Language Training and Diploma in International Relations, Institute  International & Administration Public (IIAP), Paris, France (1991).

Attended a three week long course in the Hague Academy of International Law, the Hague.

Marital Status

Married to Mrs. Sadia Azam and has two sons, one daughter.

Language Skill apart from English

Fluent in French; can communicate in Hindi; can read Arabic.

Hobbies

Reading, Fishing and Literature.
